We use idioms in everyday conversations. Idioms are phrases that don’t mean exactly what the words say. They have a special meaning that people understand when they hear them. For example, “the exam was a piece of cake” doesn’t mean that cake was served while people were taking the exam. Not at all! It means the exam was easy.
