Dear learner, what do you know about speed, distance and time?
- Distance is how far an object moves. It is usually measured in meters (m) or kilometers (km).
- Speed tells us how fast an object is moving. It is measured in meters per second (m/s) or kilometers per hour (km/h).
- Time is the duration an object takes to travel a certain distance. It is usually measured in seconds (s) or hours (h).
The formula for calculating speed is distance divided by time. If a bus travels 100 km in 2 hours, the speed will be 50 km/h. i.e 100/2 which is 50.
Speed is important in our day to day activities. It is important in racing competitions, Ambulances must move fast to save lives. And who wants slow internet anyway? Certainly not me!
So here’s a quiz on calculating speed. All the best!
